Model Regional Cooperation & Summer Course on the EU's External Dimension-Rhodes, Greece, 6-10 Oct. 2010 The Model Regional Cooperation (MRC) Conference is based on the methodology of the successfull Model United Nations simulations and will focus on the Union for the Mediterranean and the Organisation of the BLack Sea Economic Cooperation (BSCE) The Conference is organised by the House of Europe in Rhodes in cooperation with the Municipality of Rhodes, The Postgraduate Programme on "Political, Economic and International Relations in the Mediterranean", Department of Mediterranean Studies of the University of Aegean, and ICBSS. Summer Course on the EU's External Dimension-Jaca, Spain 1-3 Sept.2010 A summer course on “The European Union's External Dimension Post Lisbon” (in Spanish) is organised by the University of Zaragoza in collaboration with the ICBSS. The course will take place in Jaca, Spain, on 1-3 September 2010 and is directed at students of social sciences, civil society actors, as well as journalists and others interested in analysing the EU’s external action in the post Lisbon period.

Applications for the Master in Advanced European and International Studies (M.A.E.I.S.) at the Institut Européen des Hautes Etudes Internationales (IEHEI) in Nice/France in cooperation with Istanbul Bilgi University’s European Institute are open!
The Master Programme offers the unique opportunity to learn Europe “in Europe” and develop perspectives for Europe’s future. The programme includes semesters in Istanbul, Nice, Berlin and Poznan and guarantees an international education with an excellent academic staff and environment.

Duration: 9 months (From October to July)
A limited number of partial scholarships are available for qualified candidates.
Applications should reach the I.EH.E.I. as early as possible in order to be considered under the best conditions.

Curriculum Highlights: Students who successfully complete the program acquire 60 ECTS credits. In addition to the stays in Istanbul, Nice, Berlin, the Institute offers a study trip to European and international organisations in Geneva, Strasbourg, and Brussels.
Programme Value: The programme is taught by academics from various European countries, as well as experts from research institutions and international organisations. Over the last years, the Institute has graduated 5000 students coming from more than 80 different countries, having offered them many scholarship opportunities.

Bogazici University Center for European Studies Student Forum & The Delegation of the EU to Turkey “Culture, Identity and Citizenship in Europe from the Perspective of the Youth” *European Weekend School 2010 Istanbul 2010 Youth Conference Special Edition for Istanbul 2010 - European Capital of Culture Certificate Program in Istanbul, Turkey 7 - 9 May 2010* As Istanbul holds the title “European Capital of Culture” in 2010, CESSF and the delegation of the EU to Turkey will be the hosts of this special event, with 200 participants from both European countries and Turkey, which will be executed on the principle of deliberative discussion, based on the idea of enabling interaction between participants and speakers during the panels and to involve every participant directly to the discussion of topics in the student workshops. The conference will be conducted through the topics of: · Perceptions of Cultural Identity in Europe · Perceptions of Cultural Identity in Turkey · European Union Citizenship · Being Young in Europe - Perceptions, Expectations and Opportunities Besides the panels and student workshops that will be held for 2 days, there will be a boat trip for participants to enjoy the glorious view of Bosphorus at night and a Europe Day reception that will be organised by the Delegation of the EU to Turkey. Also participants will have the chance to join special “Istanbul 2010” events during their stay in Istanbul. EWS 2010 is open to all university students, including foreign exchange students, who are pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate degree in Turkey or overseas regardless of their country of origin or their age. In the application process, the applicants must submit a position paper about one of the four conference topics that are mentioned above. The position papers will reflect the level of interest and knowledge of the applicant on the topics that will be discussed in the conference. The position papers of the applicants will be written single spaced, typed in 12 pt with TNR, Arial, Verdana or Calibri fonts and not exceeding one page. Deadline for application is 2th April 2010, Friday. Selected participants will be notified by 5 April 2010, Monday. Panels, workshops, food and social program expenses of the participants will be covered by the organization. Accommodation costs will not be covered.
